Sarah Cox is the Founder and Managing Director of Technical Business Development Consultancy, Neutral Human. Sarah’s career in the creative industries spans over 20 years, starting in world-famous venues including London’s Comedy Store and Wembley Stadium, she quickly discovered a passion for technology and the rapid advances in video for the live sector in the mid-noughties.
In the last decade, Sarah has headed up international sales divisions at some of the industry’s leading technology companies, including Disguise and Notch. With over a decade of experience in real-time media servers, as well as real-time graphics, her extensive knowledge in the different areas of the entertainment technology industry and emerging technologies will empower business development at HIVE.
Kane is a Support Engineer with 7 years of experience in live production and broadcast. With a strong background in live event technologies, Kane has a proven track record of delivering exceptional results and driving successful outcomes, working on complex projects with diverse teams. He is passionate about technology, live events, and helping people in need, excelling at collaboration, innovation, and adaptability.
Kane leverages his knowledge to help customers overcome hurdles when they need assistance the most. In his current role in the HIVE Support department, he troubleshoots and resolves technical issues for customers, going above and beyond to provide timely and effective assistance. Outside of work, Kane enjoys track days, indulges in his love for Formula 1, explores new cities, and embraces the vibrant atmosphere of music festivals.
James is responsible for all aspects of assembly and production of HIVE products. His meticulous work ethic, dedication and professionalism shines through in the build quality of all of HIVE’s media players and products, whilst his long standing and well respected career within the events and creative industries gives him extensive understanding and knowledge of our customer base.
James is also dedicated to reducing HIVE’s environmental impact and sustainability and is leading efforts towards making HIVE a Carbon Neutral company. His passions and hobbies outside HIVE HQ include his family, a love of motorbikes, skateboarding, snowboarding, mountain biking, music production, DJing, carpentry and building cool stuff!
With over twenty years experience in the live production and broadcast industries, Selvin has worked across many disciplines including lighting design, technical product support, production management, and video screen installation for TV and film.
Having started his career as a lighting designer for Leftfield’s 1996 Leftism tour and progressing to projection mapping the Arcadia Spectacular’s Metamorphosis show, as well as installing LED video volumes around the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon for Lucas Films, Selvin has unquestionably earned his reputation as a skilled and accomplished technician.
Selvin relishes the chance to aid you on your journey with Hive media servers, leveraging his expertise in technical system design & production management to help you face any technical challenges with your audio visual projects.
As the leader of HIVE’s technical team, Dave is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product development; from hardware to software, it all gets scrutinised by his experienced eye. With a wealth of experience in developing innovative and disruptive technology, Dave’s passion and determination drive him to create cutting-edge solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible. Throughout his career, Dave has been instrumental in delivering many world-first innovations, from Olympic ceremonies and spectaculars, to campaigns for a diverse range of clients, from Bentley to Greenpeace.
Dave’s degree in Graphics Imaging & Visualisation led him into a career developing machine vision systems with neural networks and cutting-edge image processing. However, Dave’s career took a turn when he discovered the visceral experiences of the entertainment industry. From that moment on, his focus has been on creating some of the most innovative media systems available.
Trey Harrison’s passion for coding graphics began at a young age, where he spent countless hours copying code from magazines and creating multicolored geometric shapes on Apple II computers at school.
Despite dropping out of college to work in the video game industry during the early era of consumer GPUs, Trey returned to school and devoted himself to developing a modular visual programming toolkit for graphics. This toolkit, known as “Salvation,” has become the foundation for Trey’s ongoing efforts in real-time graphics, video, and audio processing, and is also used to power HIVE’s products. Trey, Dave and Mark have collaborated on countless projects since 2008 and continue to blaze a trail like no other.
Mark is responsible for the day-to-day operations at HIVE. Having already built several successful start-ups, Mark is determined to keep disruptive technologies at the forefront of the industry. Mark also takes great pride in meeting client’s expectations, delivering on time and on budget.
Mark is one of the co-founders of HIVE, alongside Dave and Trey, and is responsible for growing the team, generating new business and keeping the team focused on the company values, such as sustainability and environmental impact. He is passionate about events, installations, exhibitions, and immersive experiences, which enables him to relate to and communicate effectively with HIVE’s diverse customer base. Mark’s expertise in these areas helps guide inquiries into sales and long-term partnerships, ensuring that HIVE’s clients receive the best possible service and results every step of the way.
Christian has worked in the entertainment industry over 30 years, specialising in media servers and video system technology. He initially started out in lighting before focusing on the emerging video side of the industry. From being an experienced technician to managing teams and delivering visual and video aspects on a number of live shows, he brings a wealth of experience to the HIVE team.
Christian’s VFX experience led him to work on feature films such as Infinite (2021), Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019) and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019). Add to this his background with XL Video as Media Systems and Control Manager and then as Head of Support at Disguise, Christian is in the best possible position to truly understand the industry, client requirements and the technical needs of clients.
