Bob Marley Hope Road experience
A powerful fusion of storytelling, live performance and projection-mapped art , powered by HIVE media servers to pay tribute to the reggae legend.
Las Vegas’ new Bob Marley Hope Road experience at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino celebrates the music and message of one of the world’s most influential cultural icons with a five-room immersive walk-through show.
Produced by live-event specialists Five Currents and brought to life visually by Luke Halls Studio, the 75-minute
non-seated production runs hourly, seven days a week and doubles as an interactive daytime exhibition.
Audiences journey from a gallery of Marley’s iconic album art into spaces including a lively Dance Hall, the streets of Trench Town, a moving Cathedral scene and a 3-D finale – each combining live cast, music, lighting and vivid projection to honour Marley’s cultural legacy.
Projection mapping Marley
To realise the show’s bold visual narrative, Luke Halls Studio designed a multi-room projection system using 10× Panasonic MZ17K and 6× Panasonic RZ790 projectors.
Content highlights include animated record-sleeve artwork, flowing fabric mapped across architectural pillars, responsive projection-mapped ledges in Trench Town and lyric-driven wall effects for Marley’s song War.
Playback across all five rooms is delivered by 20× HIVE Beeblade Minima media players housed in 2× Beehive enclosures – providing a compact, centralised and efficient solution for a high-throughput live venue.
“We used Hive as it’s always very reliable and good value. It is able to follow 76 timecode cues and automatically trigger functions at certain times of the day.”

A landmark US installation
“Hope Road is a milestone for HIVE – our first major immersive installation on the Las Vegas Strip celebrating an iconic cultural figure. We’re proud to showcase HIVE in North America and grateful to Five Currents and Luke Halls Studio for trusting us, and to Show Sage for their fantastic support throughout the project.”
Mark Calvert, CEO, HIVE
This project underlines HIVE’s expanding presence in North America as a compact, dependable and cost-efficient playback platform for demanding live environments.
With the production running hourly shows across five rooms, HIVE’s proven stability, seamless time-code integration and low-footprint hardware were key to keeping operations smooth and reliable in one of Las Vegas’ busiest immersive venues.
