Using The Templates

In the Video Mastering Works application, you have the option to choose a template at the point when you add any new files for conversion, when you add a file or files you should see a window open that lists all the Templates on the system, you should see all the new templates under the "Custom Output Templates" section.

Select the appropriate template depending on the resolution and framerate of your source content. Low framerate is any framerate between 1fps and 40fps, High framerate is anything over 40fps.

Be sure to check the box labelled "Adjust Output Settings Using Source Information" as this will automatically enter the correct framerate and resolution based on your source media.

For HD and UHD resolutions there are 2 quality versions of each template, use the normal quality most of the time and only use the High quality option if you are seeing aftifacts in the encoded files as the High quality templates use a lot more resources on the Hive player.

10bit Templates should only be used if your entire video pipeline from the Hive player to the display is also running in 10bit or higher otherwise you will not see any difference in quality, but your files will be much larger and use much more resources on the player.
